🏅 Titles
Titles are earned achievements that grant real, tangible power. They are not vanity labels. They are not cosmetic badges. Each title provides specific bonuses: flat stat increases, percentage boosts, passive abilities, or unique effects that can't be replicated any other way.
Title Slots
Every individual has a limited number of title slots:
Major Slots - 2 total
Significant bonuses. Primary stat boosts, percentage modifiers, or unique abilities.
Minor Slots - 3 total
Smaller bonuses. Passive effects, situational buffs, minor stat increases.
Five total slots. That's it.
How Titles Are Earned
The System awards titles for achievements: milestones, firsts, boss kills, quest completions, discoveries, reputation thresholds, and extraordinary actions. Some titles are common (many people earn them over time). Others are unique, awarded once in the history of the System to one individual, ever.
Titles cannot be purchased, traded, or transferred. They are earned or they are nothing.
Equipping Titles
When you earn a title, it enters your title inventory. It sits there, available, until you choose to equip it. Unequipped titles are safe. They don't expire. They don't degrade. When you equip a title into a slot, its bonuses activate immediately.
The Catch: Title Destruction
Here's where it gets painful.
If all your slots of a given type are full and you want to equip a new title, you have to replace one. Replacing a title destroys it permanently. Gone. No buyback. No recovery. No "I changed my mind." It is erased from your character.
Before any replacement, the System presents a confirmation screen: both titles displayed side by side, full stat comparisons laid out, and a clear accept or decline choice. The System does not rush you. It wants you to understand exactly what you're giving up.
But once you confirm, it's done.
Why This Matters
This system creates three mandatory self-reflection moments that come up again and again:
1. The Reward
Earning a new title feels significant because it IS significant. Tangible power, permanently added to your options.
2. The Choice
Five slots. A growing inventory. Every new title forces evaluation. Is this better than what I have? Is it worth the slot?
3. The Sacrifice
Sooner or later, a mechanically superior title drops and demands a slot that's already occupied by something you earned through blood and fire. Destroying a title called [First Blood] or [The One Who Stayed] because a statistically better option came along? That's not just math. That's a decision that sticks with you.
Title Bonuses
- Flat bonuses add directly to your stat base
- Percentage bonuses multiply your total stat pool
- Titles are one of the primary sources of Luck increases, since LCK cannot be raised through free stat allocation
- Some titles grant effects no stat, skill, or gear can replicate: unique passives, conditional triggers, or situational abilities tied to how the title was earned
A Living System
Titles are not from a fixed list. The System generates them dynamically based on actual achievements. Two people who accomplish similar feats may receive similar titles. Someone who accomplishes something unprecedented receives something that has never existed before.
Your title inventory tells the story of what you've done. Your equipped titles tell the story of what you've chosen to keep.
